What’s the goss on Mulberry’s Amberley?
The Amberley family of bags was introduced by Johnny Coca at London Fashion Week in AW 2017. Named after Amberley Castle, an English country seat in Sussex dating back to the 12th Century, the Amberley shape and details have been inspired by countryside pursuits.
They feature equestrian-tinged stitching, raw edged construction, quilting details and fine saddlery leathers. The Riders Lock, which was inspired by a horse bridle, adds to the equestrian feel.
There are five members of the Amberley family: Amberley, Amberley Satchel, Small Amberley Satchel, Mini Amberley Satchel And Amberley Hobo.
Johnny Coca joined Mulberry in 2015 as Creative Director of ready-to-wear, leather goods and accessories as well as overseeing the image and evolution of Mulberry's legacy. Coca was born in Seville and educated in Paris. He was a student of architecture and design, he is fascinated by mathematics and engineering and has a passion for colour and drawings... is it any wonder his bags are this beautiful!
