Louis Vuitton, a fashion powerhouse offering an abundence of designs to suit a multitude of purposes. However, with such a variety of items and several sizings available, navigating the right fit can sometimes be challenging.
They are sized by names, numbers and letters. Letters are the key to understanding the dimensions of some of LV's most popular styles, such as the Alma, Neverfull and many more. So, here is the Armcandy Guide to Louis Vuitton Sizing: Letters Edition.
BB = Bebe Bandoulière. This means 'baby shoulder' in English, and is pretty self explanatory. The baby size is often accompanied with a detachable shoulder strap.
PM = Petite Modèle. This means 'small model' in English. Surprisingly, sometimes these 'petite' bags aren't always as petite as you think, and end up being what we would view as a more medium size. They are one of the most popular of Louis Vuitton sizes.
MM = Moyen Modèle. This means middle model in English. The most popular of sizes. Most practical for everyday use, work and various occasions. However, this obviously depends on the style in question. A 'Medium' size of a smaller style bag, is still going to look small in comparison to a medium size of a larger style, such as a Neverfull.
GM = Grand Modèle. This means, you guessed it, large model in English. This is considered to look extra large or oversized. It is the largest model available in this structure of sizing. People often use these as travel bags as their size allows for packing ease.
NM = New Model. The new model is the reintroduction of vintage or previously discontinued bags back to the market, that have been slightly modified or tweaked from their original design. An example of this is the Louis Vuitton Noe NM.
We hope this guide has provided some insight into the world of LV sizing. Of course, there's plenty more where that came from, so why don't you stay tuned to see our upcoming sizing guide, numbers edition.
