Here at Armcandy HQ, we’ve recently gained a piece from YSL, it’s a beautiful shoulder named ‘Dali Lips’. Fittingly, it has a leather flap with a pair of striking enamel black lips.This bag is actually a piece from Yves Saint Laurent’s Tom Ford era, from his 2003 Spring/Summer ready to wear collection. 
Of this collection, Ford spoke of the force behind this collection taking inspiration from surrealism, saying “these are surreal times we are living in”. Sounds familiar, no?
In 1999, YSL became part of the Gucci group and Tom Ford became creative director for them both, overseeing 16 collections a year.
The beginning of his YSL career started out positively, but began to unravel before he departed in 2004.
Although personally he had some turbulent times at YSL, he said of his creative work “I do think some of my best collections were there”. We can definitely agree with that statment!
